MURFC Membership Information

The Massey University Rugby Football Club membership is open to Massey University Under-Graduates, Graduates and Graduates of other Universities. The Club is working hard at encouraging talented rugby players and also school 1st XV players to apply for admission to the University at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Although the rugby club cannot directly affect admission procedures it can offer advice to candidates which may help particular students to be successful in their applications.

In addition, the sections on the history of the club and the links to Massey University and its colleges are essential reading for anyone who is not familiar with the University and its nationally famous rugby club.

The present facilities, coaching, International touring options, medical support, camaraderie and personal fitness programmes provided for all players make Massey a national leader in University rugby clubs.

Any player, at any level, will leave the University at the end of his course as a better rugby player and a more rounded individual than when he joined the club. This is almost guaranteed!

Anyone wishing to seek advice regarding admission should contact one of the following:

In addition MURFC has limited funds available to help students who have been accepted by the University and who, in the judgement of MURFC, are strong candidates for a Rugby Blue.

These funds are used to provide Bursaries to assist towards University and College fees of candidates who are suffering or are likely to suffer financial hardship.

Only partial support can be provided, the remainder of which must be obtained from other sources and personal finances.

Further information and application forms may be obtained from the MURFC office.
