The students had Turbos' prop Grant Polson back and had Josh Bradnock for the last half hour, but weren't tested physically in scoring eight tries to one.
Isaac Thompson directed his kicks ably with Varsity scoring quickfire tries, interspersed by periods where Freyberg would hold out.
Fields had to be switched after a serious leg injury to second-five James Forsyth.
Freyberg had a better second half where centre Corey What and halfback Dan McLean battled away but sloppy tackling let Freyberg down.
