Con Willaims - Varsity Prop Con Williams, a country boy from the Takapau Plains, is proud to boast he's seen a good chunk of the world courtesy of playing for Varsity. But this will probably be his last season in the cambridge blue, unless the Massey University club embarks on another overseas trip. The 24-year-old loosehead prop with the rambling gait is four weeks into a job as an economist with Meat and Wool in Wellington. In 2003 he was with Steve Morris' Varsity team which toured South Africa . "That was by far one of the greatest experiences I've had," said Williams. "The rugby environment and the culture was a totally different experience from New Zealand." He has played 10s rugby for New Zealand Universities (NZU) in Wellington and twice at the IRB Copa 10s in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Thanks for all your efforts with Varsity Team's over the years, Con. You have been a real stalwart. The Club appreciates you. NOTE: To see the full article you need to be registered and signed into the website. |
